The amazing accomplishments and stats of #24 will not be listed or explained for this listing. But that will not stop me from exclaiming Willie Howard Mays (May 6, 1931-) is arguably the greatest center-fielder that Major League Baseball has ever seen! I know of no other baseball player (alive or deceased) that has a life-cast of his person. A knowledgeable collector has informed me about a Pete Rose Life-Cast and a John Elway Life-Cast and a Muhammad Ali Life-Cast. (year 1997) also had for sale – Jerry Rice “The Record Maer” / His record setting 127 Touchdowns, with autographed football. Sale price: unknown to me. I would guess there are more than a few football athletes that have life-casts. Those numbers are 9/200 and 51/200. Subsequently, it is my educated guess (if all 200 life-casts exist) the top four (in monetary value) would be. #1/200 [the first one produced]. #24/200 [Mays Giants jersey number in 1954; and for the remainder of his career, even with the 1972/1973 Mets]. #54/200 [representing the year 1954, the year of The Catch]. #200/200 [the last one produced]. Autographed Willie Mays “The Catch” Life-Cast. Artist: Steve Hoskins / Limited Edition 54/200. Representing the World Series year 1954. A moment in time, captured forever. One of the greatest catches in baseball history! Life-like bust of the actual forearms and hands of Willie Mays; outstretched to make his famous blind. Over the shoulder catch. Casting is heavy type plastic material. Included is a leather glove, not an exact duplicate of the original The Say Hey Kid fielding glove ; that glove being the Rawlings’HH’ model, with’Major League’ stamped on the little finger and’Deep Well Pocket’ likewise under the web. His autograph and 54/200 is applied to the inside pinkie finger of the glove. I have an Internet copy of a Letter of Authenticity (JSA/James Spence Authentication, LLC) dated March 26, 2009 for the 51/200 Willie Mays “The Catch” glove. Include is a limited edition Official MLB National League Rawlings baseball; signed and numbered. Acrylic cultured marble display base, measuring 11.5 L x 8.5 W x 1.75 H. Total measurement with forearms, hands and base: 14.5. Custom acrylic display case. This case has a minor smudge mark (easily cleaned) caused by tape residue holding the plastic bag to the case. Also, on one side of the display case there are very, very faint and non-damaging scratches (4 or 5). Nevertheless, I mention it here. Total height when assembled and displayed: 19 inches. LOA (Letter of Authenticity) is a California Notarization from Richard Koral, on behalf of Kent Collectibles, Inc. The original cardboard box for the acrylic display case has eight corner guards for the case and is surrounded by Styrofoam peanuts. The original cardboard box measures 20″ W x 20.5″ L x 25.5 H. This costs more than the base and hands estimate (read below) because it is a larger box. If you do not need the acrylic display case, then I will not send you the acrylic display case. The original cardboard box measures 16″ W x 18″ L x 22 H. I will use a current large cardboard box for the glove, baseball, etc. And protect all items inside the box. All items have been (for all these years) , and continue, to be stored in a cool, dry room. No damage or wear to any item. An “art piece” that will display beautifully at close inspection or from across your room! Thank You very much for your interest, Dan.
